1. Urban & Business Geography - GEO 3602 (or GEO 5605) Spring (3 units)
2. Business Geography Integrating Theory - GEO 4620 (or GEO 6938) Fall (3 units)
3. Business Geography and New Real Estate Market Analysis - GEO 5157 Spring (3 units)

One of the below
4. Seminar Business Geography (project design, management, execution, presentation) - GEO 6509 Fall (3 units)
5. Social Geography - GEO 2410 Fall (3 units)
6. Housing People Places - GEO 3442 Spring (3 units)
7. Shelter Care of the Elderly - GEO 4431 Spring (3 units)

In addition to the above, students are required to have completed either within the Department of Geography at University of Florida, or an equivalent class in another Department:
8. Introduction to Quantitative Methods, GEO 3162 (Fall) (or equivalent in another Department)
9. Foundations of GIS - GEO 3151 (Spring and Fall, perhaps Summer)
Overview: This certificate program is intended for students seeking employment in the private sector as a business geographer, sometimes referred to in industry as business GIS or strategic management. This curriculum also provides good educational background for those who will be pursuing additional post graduate education to become a real estate market analyst or an appraiser. When combined with an appropriate major in Geography, other social or business science, the curriculum provides excellent background to pursue advanced educational training for those pursuing a career in academia. Students will participate in data collection and analysis, develop conversational and presentation skills, learn proper terminology and methodologies, and learn about urban development patterns at local to global scales.
